HOMEMADE TRAILER REGISTRATION

As of August 15th, 2014 the State of Maine will no longer allow us to register or renew a Homemade Trailer that does not have:

1. A State Assigned VIN #

2. A “Maine VIN Inspection Form” filled out by a Law Enforcement Officer (ONLY)

If you wish to continue in registering your Homemade Trailer in the State of Maine we have listed some steps below to assist in this process:

  1. Get a State Assigned VIN (Vehicle Identification Number): The process to get a State Assigned VIN will vary between states. However, we would advise you to start by contacting your local DMV or Municipality to find out how to go about getting one in your state.
  2. Maine VIN Inspection Form: (Download Below) Once a State Assigned VIN # has been assigned and attached to your trailer you must have a Maine VIN Inspection Form filled out by a Law Enforcement Officer ONLY. (This is how the State of Maine verifies the new VIN.)
  3. NEW CUSTOMERS ONLY: (Trailer Packet Download Below) If have not yet registered a trailer with us, we will also need you to fill out one of our Trailer Registration Packets.   This allows us to create an account for you that we can use for any future transactions you may do through our company.  (If you are an existing client you do not need to complete a Trailer Packet. Instead, you can download our Services & Payment Form here to include with your information.)

All of the above steps must be completed in order to register your Homemade Trailer in the State of Maine.
