Homemade Trailer

We apologize for the inconvenience, but as of August 15, 2014 the state of Maine will no longer allow us to register or renew a Homemade Trailer that does not have a state assigned VIN # and a VIN INSPECTION FORM that has been filled out by a Law Enforcement Officer.

For all existing customers that have Homemade Trailers registered with us, the state will allow you to use your existing plate until it has expired.  Once expired or if your wish to register a Homemade Trailer for the first time, you must complete the following steps:

1. Contact your local DMV or Municipality to find out how you can get a State Assigned VIN # assigned to your trailer.

2. Once a State Assigned VIN # has been assigned and attached to your trailer you must have a VIN Inspection Form, which can be downloaded here, filled out by a Law Enforcement Officer ONLY.

3. FOR NEW CUSTOMER ONLY:  Once steps 1 and 2 have been completed, you can then download the Utility-Boat-Farm-Personal Trailer Packet here to complete and include with your VIN Inspection Form.

All of the above steps must be completed in order to register your Homemade Trailer in the State of Maine.

As always, we are here to take the Hassle out of the Registration process so please visit our Contact Us page if you would like us to send us a message.

Thanks again for choosing Haskell Registration for all your trailer registration needs!
